Los Angeles witnessed widespread festivities after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-game World Series title. Fans across the globe joined Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in 25 years that a franchise has achieved consecutive championships.

Celebration Parade Draws Massive Turnout

Local celebrations included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.

Social media videos show countless of Angelenos packing downtown streets, many carrying handmade banners and team flags. The squad was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the crowds, raising the Commissioner’s trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an translator.

The procession path ended at the stadium, where the team emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the field.

Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses

Festivities began prior to the parade, with supporters setting off flares in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, spoke directly about the victory.

“We refuse to lose,” he said. “I love the Dodgers. I love Los Angeles.”

Mixed Reactions and City Unity

However, Mark Walter received a less warm reception at the rally. Video footage from the gathering appear to show Walter walking onstage to a combination of applause and jeers, with negative shouts punctuating his address.

The championship served as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for the city. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater support.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman said. “These fans are crazy. It’s truly amazing to be a part of this.”
