A man from Australia that leaped past a barrier and reached for celebrity Ariana Grande has been deported and barred from Singapore.

The individual, 26, was given a sentence to more than a week in detention for disrupting public order and has now been "banned from entering the country again," Singaporean immigration authorities told local media.

He forced his way through camera crews and rushed toward the celebrity, who was present at the Asian premier for the film on 13 November. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo intervened to remove him from Grande.

He has a background of causing disturbances at events and celebrity events, including leaping onto the platform at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in June this year.

The occurrence provoked strong reactions in Singapore, with many accusing him of triggering past trauma for the singer.

The singer has mentioned experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at her show in Manchester in several years ago killed 22 individuals and hurt numerous attendees.

In the legal process, the court heard he had tried to gain access on the movie's debut twice, according to local news sources.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Security staff prevented him and held him in place.

He then uploaded videos thanking Grande for allowing his presence and said he was "at liberty."

Authorities took him into custody the subsequent day and brought charges against him with disorderly conduct, to which he confessed.

The Presiding Judge the magistrate was referenced by Channel News Asia as stating that Wen was "attention seeking", noting that he was mistaken to believe he would not experience repercussions.

The actress has not addressed the incident.

Erivo spoke about the incident to a media outlet, remarking that she "only aimed to ensure my friend was secure."

"I think he didn't intend us harm, but you never know with those things, and I sought to ensure that she was alright. That was my first instinct," she commented.
